• 1) Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  I began using a computer primarily for playing games. I was captivated by the graphical user interface (GUI), finding it fascinating and interactive. Each button press seemed to unlock a new level of excitement and discovery, leaving a lasting impression on my curiosity about technology.

• 2) What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

  In my journey as a Software Engineer, one of the technological evolutions that has marked me significantly is the advent of advanced natural language processing (NLP) models, particularly exemplified by models like GPT-3.
  The ability of models like GPT-3 to understand and generate human-like text has revolutionized various applications, including chatbots and virtual assistants. These models have showcased the tremendous potential of large-scale language models in understanding context, generating coherent responses, and even aiding in creative content creation.

• 3) Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

  As a Software Engineer with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP), my expertise lies in developing and implementing algorithms and systems that enable computers to understand, interpret, and generate human language. I am particularly interested in the intersection of linguistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, as it opens up exciting possibilities for applications ranging from chatbots to sentiment analysis and language translation

• Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  While visionaries like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg have undoubtedly made significant contributions to the tech industry and have been a source of inspiration for many, my personal role model in the field of science and technology is Ahmed Zewail.
  
  Ahmed Zewail, an Egyptian-American scientist, won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his groundbreaking work in femtochemistry, which involves studying chemical reactions on extremely short timescales. His contributions to the field have not only advanced our understanding of fundamental chemical processes but also opened up new avenues for research and applications.
  
  Zewail's dedication to scientific excellence, commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge, and passion for education make him a source of inspiration for me. His ability to bridge the gap between theoretical and experimental work, coupled with a deep commitment to mentorship and education, reflects a holistic approach to scientific advancement.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  During a course project on developing a language-learning chatbot, our team faced the challenge of making it linguistically accurate and contextually aware. We learned the importance of continuous iteration based on user feedback to refine the chatbot's responses. This hands-on experience highlighted the practical aspects of implementing NLP in a real-world scenario and emphasized the significance of user-centric design. The project taught us valuable lessons about adaptability and constant refinement in the development of NLP applications, shaping my approach in the field.

• What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

  I would empathize with their feelings and acknowledge that IT can seem complex, especially for those not familiar with the field. I'd then highlight that complexity is a common perception in various domains, including IT, but it can be broken down into manageable parts through step-by-step learning. Encouraging them to start with small, practical projects and leveraging online resources or courses to gain hands-on experience might help demystify the complexity.

• What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

  As a Software Engineer, I find immense satisfaction in coding and problem-solving. However, my interests extend beyond computers. I share a passion for singing and drawing, finding solace and creativity in these artistic expressions. Balancing technical pursuits with the joy of creating music and visual art adds a vibrant and diverse dimension to my life. It's a harmonious blend of logic and creativity that fuels my personal and professional growth.

• What makes you a Superprof in IT?

  As a Superprof tutor with three years of experience, I take pride in my ability to connect with individuals and assist them in strengthening their programming and coding skills. The joy of interacting with diverse learners and witnessing their growth in the IT field has been immensely rewarding. My teaching approach focuses on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, tailored to the unique needs of each student. Through personalized guidance, practical examples, and hands-on exercises, I aim to empower individuals on their journey to mastering programming and coding.
